This was the first MMV (manga music video) I made and first project in Adobe After Effects. MMVs are music videos where existing manga panels are cut and animated to the song. The manga featured in this video is Delicious in Dungeon by Ryoko Kui.
Since this was my first time using After Effects, I learned SO much. I didn’t know anything about the program including the basics like keyframing, so I spent a lot of time watching YouTube tutorials and learning as I went. This video means a lot to me because I worked on it in chronological order, so as the video goes on I can see the progress I make as I learn new techniques and skills; although the second half was done in a crunch period so there were some shortcuts I made that I had to smooth out a little later. Overall, while some of the techniques are a little basic, I had a lot of passion for the project that I think shows and working on it was an invaluable experience.
